The Chicago, IL location of GolinHarris is currently seeking a Associate Community Manager (AE) for the Consumer team.

Job Description:
• Build, maintain and/or participate in interactive communities for clients and their brands
• Create, nurture and monitor conversations and relationships with individual members of online communities on behalf of clients
• Set and enforce community guidelines that empower stakeholders to participate, while minimizing risks to clients and maintaining proper focus
• Identify opportunities and threats in user-generated content surrounding client’s brand
• Create compelling content and experiences that spur conversation and foster brand engagement
• Help assess the performance and value of the community to clients over time
• Work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with all members of the Connector team and with other specialist groups
• Work with Catalyst and client teams to effectively route and/or address customer service issues that surface within online communities
• Communicate online strategy and provide ongoing community management counsel to colleagues and clients
• Provide community support, coordinate logistics, assist with communicating with members of online community
• Proofread and edit online content, as needed
• Communicate directly with members of online community as the voice of the client or brand

Requirements:
• 1-3 years of experience in the social media space
• Outgoing and confident personality
• BA/BS in Liberal Arts, English, History, Communications or related field
• Media Savvy, Trend Watcher, News Junkie
• Experience working with consumer brands

Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; understanding the current and future social media universe, such as Facebook, YouTube, StumbleUpon, Delicious, Digg, Reddit, Flickr, Forums, Twitter, Wikis, blogs, etc; knowledge of best practices in online community management and writing for the web
