Associate Director – Property Asset Management recruitment

In order to help achieve this, the Scottish Futures Trust (SFT) is leading and implementing key programmes of improvement and  disposals across the public estate as part of a wider strategic government initiative to reform and improve public sector services. The focus will be on improving asset management practice, the reduction of costs and carbon footprint and the release of property savings.

Reporting to the Asset Management Director, you will be the Team Leader responsible for the delivery of your part of the overall asset management programme, involving public property assets the length and breadth of Scotland, and contributing to other SFT asset management initiatives as required.

More specifically, you’ll establish the strategy and plans for driving economies, efficiencies and effectiveness in property asset management and work to develop an improved, corporate approach across multiple public sector bodies.  You’ll also be expected to build influential relationships with the private sector and, where necessary, will lead procurement initiatives.

We’re looking for a solid background of achievement, gained at a senior level, in either, (a) the implementation of a collaborative approach to asset management; or (b) the development and implementation of a corporate property rationalisation programme – or even better a mix of the two.

Ideally, you’ll have a relevant qualification(s) to complement your extensive knowledge and experience of the sector. A first-class record of project delivery and an understanding of the public/private sector interface are essential.

A seasoned, inspiring leader and clear communicator, you must be focused on delivery and be capable of managing change whilst dealing with complex, inter-organisational issues.  In addition, you must have a commercial eye for detail and commitment to achieving value for money in programmes of change measured in hundreds of millions of pounds.

In return, a competitive, attractive salary is on offer, coupled with a final salary contributory pension (Local Government Scheme) and car allowance.
