Associate Director
This incumbent is reporting to Head of Private Banking Compliance in Legal Compliance Division.
Responsibilities:
- Handle all HKMA RI registration related matters;
- Coordinate and assist to handle/ respond to regulatory reporting, enquiries, surveys, examinations, etc.;
- Coordinate and assist to handle/ respond to internal (e.g. Head Office) reporting and enquiries;
- Provide ongoing guidance/ advice to the Private Banking business on compliance and regulatory requirements;
- Perform transaction monitoring after account activation; identify and report any irregular/ suspicious transactions;
- Assist to identify the need for, create, establish, update and implement appropriate compliance process, systems and controls in relation to Private Banking business activities of the Restricted License Bank within the Group;
- Assist to manage (if required) AML controls for client on-boarding, account approval (enhanced risk customer) and ongoing monitoring; due diligence review (enhanced risk customer); ad-hoc periodic review on existing customer profile;
- Assist to establish and maintain a regular compliance review program to identify compliance problems and cases of possible non-compliance with internal and external rules and regulations with a particular focus on the compliance with the Banking Ordinance and Securities and Futures Ordinance, the rules and regulations issued by HKMA and SFC;
- Advise, support and report to the Head of Private Banking Compliance on the identification and changes in the regulatory and compliance environment;
- Such other duties as shall from time to time be directed by the Head of Private Banking Compliance or his deputy.
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree holder in business, accounting, law or related disciplines;
- Minimum 5 years of compliance/ relevant experience in financial industry or regulatory bodies;
- Able to address, analyze and resolve issues with minimal assistance;
- Self-motivated, independent and pleasant personality with good communication skills at all level;
- Good understanding of Private Banking business and operations; and strong knowledge on HKMA SFC rules and regulations applicable to Private Banks is a plus;
- Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese; ability to communicate in Mandarin preferred
