Position Description
We seek a senior level professional to oversee, coordinate and manage our commercial supply chain function. Working with our technical staff and legal staff, the incumbent will have responsibility for managing and negotiating contracts with third party providers. The selected candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining corporate policies and procedures for materials and inventory management. The incumbent will also represent the supply chain on the team choosing and implementing an ERP for our corporation.
- Establishes and maintain systems for commercial production planning, shipping and receiving and inventory management of all materials working with CMOs.
- Will establish and maintain new-ERP for commercial supply chain.
- Negotiates contracts with CMOs and 3PLs.
- Conducts market survey and analysis of materials cost and prices; plans and budgets for procurement of materials; coordinates with vendors for price and procurement.
- Works directly with commercial packaging CMOs to supply requirements and packaging configurations.
- Represents commercial supply chain in sales and operations planning teams.
- Ensures that required documents for customs clearance of product.
- Defines and maintains metrics for inventory, production cycle-times, forward coverage, etc.
- Ensures on-time in full availability of raw-materials at CMOs and subsequent release of quality product.
- Communicates clearly, efficiently and accurately with internal team members and external partners.
- Fully experienced with cGMPs and all applicable regulations and guidance.
- Must be a self-motivated, highly organized and personable individual capable of seeing tasks through influence of external partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in administration, material management, logistics, supply chain or any associated field of study. Five to seven years of progressively responsible experience in production, inventory control and materials management in a cGMP environment.
- Knowledge of packaging development and package design engineering.
- Working knowledge of MRP and Microsoft Office software systems.
- Ability to network and deal with vendors and suppliers.
- Experience negotiating contracts with third party logistics providers and CMOs.
- Experience implementing an ERP system.
- Knowledge of e-pedigree and current pharmaceutical supply chain security issues.
- APICs Certification a plus.
