Associate Director, Credit Analyst

Corporate Business Group originates and manages relationships with companies across a wide range of industries and forms part of our Corporate and Institutional Banking business within WIB. CBGs existing customer base and new customer targeting activities are centred on large private and small mid-cap public, Australasian based clients who have turnover of $50 to $500m. Our customer relationships are often credit intensive, reflecting the level of gearing and the complexity of structures.
Working extensively with Relationship Managers and Originators, the role involves credit assessment of counterparties, including meeting with company executives and professional investors, compilation of credit reviews and providing input into deal structuring. The portfolio has a high degree of new deal focus.
Major Accountabilities of Position Include:
- Continuously improving demonstrating the understanding of customers in defined portfolio to support the achievement of revenue targets
- Providing effective deal support through accurate and thorough research analysis
- Protects WIB's assets by applying sound credit management practices
- Your main focus will be on:
- Research (customers industries - maintaining disseminating research to facilitate effective risk identification mitigation.)
- Analysis (risk profiling, financial analysis related credit submission activities - completing within agreed timeframes to support deal origination)
- Monitoring (undertaking dynamic risk management of defined customer portfolio incorporating accurate timely monitoring of triggers, covenants, completion of periodic reviews and continuous risk monitoring)
- Collaboration (information sharing working relationships) and contribute to the completion of strategic selling papers to help acquire customers or increase share of wallet.
Required Knowledge, Experience and Attributes:
- At least 4 years of corporate credit analysis experience
- Advanced financial analysis, financial modelling and credit risk management skills
- Product knowledge across Financial Markets, Debt Markets, and Transactional Banking and Working Capital Services products
- A relevant tertiary qualification (Finance, Accounting or FINSIA) would be preferred
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Commercial awareness/business acumen
