DescriptionThe Finance Department at UBS Investment Bank is organised via a matrix of regional and global functions. Regional
Controllers ensure the accuracy and integrity of our legal entity accounts and that all accounting, legal, tax and
Regulatory requirements are met. Balance Sheet and Revenue Controls (BSRC) are business aligned to provide product, valuation
and accounting control as well as value added management information. Taken together, they
ensure that standards, policies and procedures are applied efficiently and effectively across the Investment Bank.

The Equities Balance Sheet and Revenue Controls team are primarily responsible for the controlling and reporting of the Global Equities
Business, a substantial business unit of the Investment Bank, and to provide management information support to senior
heads of the equities business. This team will also engage in implementations required to deliver enhanced control processes around the GGL. The offshore team supports onshore by completing the Daily PnL production, analysis and validation as well as the weekly and monthly Balance Sheet production, analysis and validation.

The controller will operate within the Equity Derivatives Structured team (Equity Structured Products/ Global Investor Solutions) in the London-based group.
The main elements of the role are:-

Daily PL review the analysis of the attributed PnL, review of the risk exposures on the book
Daily and MTD Commentary review
IFRS Balance sheet review and analysis.
Liaison with trading desk, Valuations, Operations, financial Reporting etc to discuss and resolve ad hoc issues concerning bookings, valuations, new business and other areas.
Manage the relationship with outsourced service providers, ensuring services are delivered in line with SLA’s and issues escalated and resolved in a timely manner

Ad hoc projects –Risk Sensitivity based PnL analysis, PnL process and analysis standardisation
And ad hoc as the business dictates.

Strong analytical and communication skills required combined with a good understanding of the business environment.

Requirements

• Understanding of Structured Equity Derivatives Products
• Familiarity with BUC processes and responsibilities
• Strong organisational skills with disciplined and structured approach
• Clear verbal and written communication
• Maintain the professional, ethical and legal standards required
• Attention to detail and high standards of data and systems integrity.
• Follow international codes of practice and controls
• Compliance and legal requirements
• Degree educated or equivalent ( maths background preferred)
• Qualified Accountant preferable (ACA,CIMA, ACCA or similar) / Controlling experience in an investment bank
