Associate Director, FP&A MIS Strategy and Reengineering recruitment

The FPA MIS Strategy and Reengineering Initiative is focused on the enhancement of AIG's FPA operating model, the re-design of FPA processes, the improvement of FPA technology, and the establishment of consistent reporting requirements and data governance.

As part of the MIS Strategy Department within larger AIG FPA Organization, this position will manage all aspects of the FPA-related transformational projects with a primary focus on:

1)Integration and ownership of reporting and MIS requirements for all of AIG's FPA function implementation of FPA Platforms/Technology to enhance reporting and analytical capabilities
2)Re-engineering, streamlining and integration of core FPA processes: strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, monthly and quarterly results, weekly estimates, etc.
3)Building FPA data standards and consistent reporting requirements: KPI trees, performance management frameworks, charts of accounts, etc.

Position Responsibilities:

MIS Strategy:
*In collaboration with finance functions and business units, form the target-state vision, define the roadmap and strategy needed to enhance MIS capabilities for AIG, evaluate and prioritize multiple initiatives
*Own the Transformational Roadmap comprised of a number of tactical and strategic initiatives for the FPA function
*Drive strategic vision, define a number of tactical projects and initiatives to accomplish the goals

Implementation of FPA Tools and Platforms:
*Coordination with all technology and project teams
*Work with business units to conduct current state assessments, develop, integrate and own FPA requirements
*Define requirements and project-manage FPA systems changes and enhancements
*Collaborate with the technology organization to perform analysis of alternative technology solutions
*Work with external vendors and internal teams, implement platforms and tools for the FPA function

Project Management:
*Own or co-owning a portfolio of transformational projects and initiatives
*Manage all aspects of the re-engineering initiatives through their project life-cycles (from initiation, analysis, forming end-state vision to implementation planning and actually implementing the process and technology solutions for FPA and Finance)
*Own project plans and deliverables for individual initiatives as per defined Roadmap
*Form the end-state vision and propose process and technology solutions
*Partner with FPA heads/leads across AIG FPA Organization
*Work with internal distributed project teams to achieve project goals and deliverables

FPA Process Design:
*Design, streamline and integrate major FPA processes for AIG (planning, forecasting, weekly estimates, quarterly and monthly results, etc.)

FPA Data Standards and Reporting Requirements:
*Consolidate and build MIS requirements on behalf of FPA organization
*Develop and implement common FPA data models and reporting standards across AIG (KPI trees, charts of accounts, performance management frameworks, etc.)

This role will require significant senior-management interaction, and will have high visibility

Required Skills/Experience:

General:
*MBA / MS in Finance Degree or equivalent working experience
*10 or more years of experience within financial services industry, finance function of consumer goods companies or adjacent fields (i.e., financial consulting)

Finance Functional Knowledge - required:
*Knowledge of core company-wide FPA and reporting processes
*Familiarity with FPA functional requirements for reporting and MIS
*Internal experience with AIG or its subsidiaries is a plus

Knowledge of Finance Platforms/Technology and Finance Architecture:
*Familiarity with major financial reporting platforms and EPM solutions for large enterprises, particularly for consolidation/aggregation and planning/forecasting (SAP BPC, Oracle Hyperion and other solutions)
*Demonstrated experience with Hyperion Essbase is a plus
*Understanding of building blocks of company's finance architecture (product processors, GL systems, data warehouses, reporting and consolidation platforms, planning platforms)

Project Management Skills:
*Prior experience managing complex re-engineering projects, providing project leadership through full project lifecycle
*Demonstrated experience with project management tools, including preparation and maintenance of project plans, resource coordination, identification of constrains/risks, preparation of status reports and others
*Prior experience defining strategy for complex re-engineering initiatives or implementation projects is a plus

Business Process Design and Re-Engineering:
*Familiarity with business process design and re-engineering concepts, major process improvement methodologies

Other Skills:
*Working experience with MS Excel, MS Access, Hyperion Essbase
*Ability to build relationships, work effectively and achieve results working in matrix organizations
*Excellent communication skills, ability to negotiate, follow-up, influence, sometimes without direct authority
*Ability to flexibly switch from management of distributed teams to execution
*Hands-on approach, ability to multitask and prioritize
*Strong presentation skills with advanced knowledge of MS PowerPoint
