Associate Director, Global Process Optimization
Please note the incumbent will be based out of our Singapore location. This is not a U.S. position.
This position is a global process engineer within the Global Process Optimization Team. This person possesses expert level spray drying and powder handling knowledge of powder infant formula products or similar complex nutritional products. This position is located at our new facility in Singapore. Responsibilities include:
- Provide influencing technical communication to key stakeholders, management and team members.
- Serve as a key resource within the global supply chain organization for instruction in execution and facilitation of structured problem solving and risk assessment based resolution(s).
- Identify and drive process optimization projects that deliver significant quality, productivity or efficiency benefit. Can effectively lead teams in a global environment and apply an understanding of technical and business practices necessary for success.
- Partner across functional groups to effect positive change. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Apply an understanding of HACCP, GMP’s and regulatory requirements to innovations in processes, equipment design and cleaning.
- Apply an understanding of regional differences in safety and environmental standards into execution of process trials and development of process strategies.
- Establish an internal and external network to identify best practices in similar industries and within MJN, as well develop and implement plans to share and deploy best practices throughout the organization.
- Use in depth understanding of new technology to develop state of the art manufacturing processes for products and solve problems.
- Conduct detailed technical assessments that determines and prioritizes, process improvements, conformance, control and productivity opportunities, early in projects.
- Develops technical talent and builds technical capability globally.
Job Requirements:
This incumbent will be based out of our Singapore office. This is not a U.S. position.
A minimum of a M.S. degree in Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Food Science/Food Technology or equivalent technical specialty required. Minimum of 10 years experience in food, infant formula or related industry with at least 5 to 7 years experience in a process engineering capacity required. High level of expertise in spray drying and powder handling technology required. Mastery of relevant process unit operations also desired. Excellent English language verbal, written and comprehension skills is a must as well as overall effective communication with others at all levels of the organization. The candidate should have a demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive process optimization projects successfully in a global environment and have demonstrated success in the commercialization of new products and/or formulations into MJN manufacturing locations. Experience in designing and starting up new product processes in a variety of manufacturing environments including contract-manufacturing plants preferred. We are seeking someone who can develop spray drying capability globally but with primary focus on spray drying skill development in the Asia Pacific region. This candidate must be self motivated, reliable and deliver on commitments with limited supervision. The successful candidate will be located in Singapore and must be willing to travel internationally; requirements will vary based on projects.
