Associate Director, Network Contracting

The Associate Director of Network Contracting develops the Institutional Special Needs Plan Network across New York and New Jersey. The Network must yield a geographically competitive, broad access, stable network that achieves objectives for unit cost performance and trend management, and produces an affordable and predictable product for customers and business partners. The Associate Director will evaluate and negotiate contracts in compliance with company contract templates, reimbursement structure standards, and other key process controls. Responsibilities also include establishing and maintaining strong business relationships with Skilled Nursing Facilities and ensuring the network composition includes an appropriate distribution of provider specialties.
Responsibilities:
- Business development for the Institutionalized Special Needs Plan (ISNP) by implementing network strategy as well as pursuing leads and proposals.
- Leverage existing relationships and foster new relationships in order to recruit SNFs into the ISNP plan.
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with Skilled Nursing Facilities across New Jersey and New York.
- Oversee unit cost results against budget, strategy and execution.
- Adapt departmental plans and priorities to address business and operational challenges.
- Influence or provide input to forecasting and planning activities.
- Develop market level strategy, plans, and/or organizational priorities.
- Act as a mentor/leader for less experience team members.
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree preferred. Seven plus years of network development and leadership experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
- 5+ years experience in a network management-related role handling complex network providers with accountability for business results.
- 5+ years experience in the health care industry. Long Term care experience preferably within the Skilled Nursing Facility industry.
- Medicare experience required.
- 2+ years experience in contributing to the development of product pricing and utilizing financial modeling in making rate decisions
- 2+ years experience with provider contracting.
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed environment.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying complex or technical information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret complex information from others, including but not limited to reimbursement policy standards.
- Strong interpersonal skills, establishing rapport and working well with others.
