Associate Director of Security Job in Bronx 10458, New York Us
The New York Botanical Garden, a National Historic Landmark and one of NYC’s premier cultural institutions, seeks an Associate Director of Security. The Associate Director of Security is responsible for assisting the Director of Security in the management of the Security Department. Duties will include the safety and security of staff, students and visitors to The Garden; protection of physical assets, including buildings and collections and directed duties.
· Protection of life and property; prevention of crime; control and direction of visiting public. Enforcement of laws and institutional regulations by summary law enforcement, warning and personal contact.
· Provide management of the Security Department, including direction of security personnel and discipline.
· Coordinate and direct special event security activities and preparation of security plans and analyses.
· Responsible for institutional safety, traffic control, fire prevention and suppression, accident and injury investigation and maintaining alarm systems.
· Responsible for overseeing subordinate training programs.
Requirements:
· Baccalaureate degree in Security Management or related field of study.
· Minimum of five years of managerial experience in a military, law enforcement or security organization or an acceptable equivalent.
· Candidates must have excellent written and verbal skills, an ability to develop and implement programs that coordinate on municipal, private and institutional resources.
· Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Salary commensurate with experience.
