Responsibilities
The Associate Director will work as part of the property and casualty insurance team analyzing the credit quality of a portfolio of property and casualty insurance companies. The ratings process involves both business and financial analysis; the identification of industry risk factors, leading discussions with issuers' management, performing financial forecasts and sensitivity analysis and maintaining surveillance of rated issues. In addition, analysts are required to develop industry knowledge, respond to queries from investors, media and issuers, prepare presentations for Rating Committees and publish ratings commentaries and ratings rationales. In addition, the Associate Director will be required to maintain the integrity of internal surveillance requirements, contribute to the development of ratings criteria, initiate outreach activities with investors and intermediaries and provide guidance and support to other analysts as directed.
**Considerable experience in performing credit analysis of insurance companies, and a good understanding of property casualty insurance underwriting fundamentals is desired.

Skills

o An MBA, CPA or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst Certification)
o Actuarial experience is also preferred. 
o Excellent Writing and Verbal Presentation Skills.
o Five years of experience in credit /financial analysis.
o Insurance, Financial Services or relevant Industry Experience
o The ability to influence constituencies
o The ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
o The ability to analyze original, non-routine analytical/business problems in a timely and insightful manner.
o Experience in Fixed-Income Analytics
o Experience in Equity Analysis or Sell-Side Analysis
o The candidate is expected to have very strong leadership skills, in addition to strong analytical skills, which will support opportunities to lead special projects and support other insurance analysts on key operational tasks.
