Job Description:
This position is responsible for all Sales Operations analytics and reporting initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Sales Analytics and Automation, this function requires a business analytics expert who possesses high business acumen, understands pharmaceutical sales business processes and all commercial data including sales and marketing information. This role will provide expertise in analytics methodologies and leading technology enablers. Responsible for providing analytic support for OAPI Executive Management, the Sales Organization, and other key stakeholders as needed, including all standard/scheduled and ad-hoc commercial analysis. Responsible for the acquisition and utilization of pharmaceutical industry data in accordance with all regulations and for managing the respective vendor contracts. The position requires the ability to manage a variety of people, processes, relationships, and systems within Sales Operations. In addition, the position also requires the ability to interact with a variety of internal departments, sales and marketing management, co-promotion partners, market intelligence, and outside vendors across the matrix.
Key Job Responsibilities:
· Serve as business leader and business owner for all commercial analytics enablement projects, including integration of new data sources and data management procedures, implementation of new analytics capabilities, enhancement of existing systems, and accurate preparation of all standard/scheduled and ad-hoc commercial analysis.
· Interacts with senior Commercial leadership to build/strengthen relationships, understand needs, align priorities, address issues and opportunities quickly and satisfactorily, and to secure buy-in for proposed solutions.
· Responsible for identifying and maintaining business analytics reporting requirements on an ongoing basis and for long-range planning and implementation of commercial solutions including upgrades and new implementations for CRM, DW, MDM.
· Responsible for the preparation, quality assurance and distribution of all commercial ad-hoc analytics and standard reports (weekly, monthly quarterly, etc.) including trend and performance, market and product analysis, customer segmentation, competitive activity, market access and pricing trends, dashboards/trackers, etc.
· Serve as commercial data owner and data governance/stewardship leader, maintains stringent quality control process and measures to ensure the accuracy of all analytics and reports disseminated from Sales Operations.
· Responsible for ensuring alignment with IT management concerning business objectives, technical direction, and capital investment. Identify and partner with third-party providers for appropriate data, data management and toolkit management services. Collaborate with IT management, ensuring business and technology strategies are integrated and meet analytics and reporting business timelines.
· Proactively and regularly provides Sales Operations leadership with analytics and reporting project plans, project status reports, issues/issue resolution plan, and other insight reports.
· Define metrics and monitor department performance against productivity targets (e.g. report schedule adherence, data quality, cycle time, etc.).
· Act as business analytics process and technology change management and knowledge-transfer leader in defining and coordination efficient change management process for all business analytics solutions.
· Performs / directs other special projects as assigned (e.g. predictive analytics, business expansions, co-promotion, closed loop marketing).
Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, Education, and Experience Requirements:
· Minimum 6 years experience in business intelligence, master data management, data analytics and data integration skills. Strong knowledge of and experience with pharmaceutical data sources.
· Minimum 6 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry in sales, sales operations or business analytics required.
· Experience in other functional areas (e.g. marketing, managed markets, information management, etc.) is strongly preferred.
· Minimum 4 years of advanced business analytics experience (e.g. predictive analytics, regression techniques, time series models, scoring, scenario-based models, statistical and econometric models, probabilistic estimation, etc.)
· Strong analytical skills with proven experience with preparing business analyses. Fully proficient in analytics methodologies and data management and mining tools.
· Strong customer service and client consulting service orientation.
· Solid individual and team management experience with experience managing cross functional teams including recruiting, performance management and operations.
· Experience / knowledge of working in matrix management structure with project and program management, coordination and people management in a cross-functional team environment.
· Comprehensive knowledge of and experience with pharmaceutical data sources is a must. This includes a strong knowledge of physician level sales and prescribing data, account level sales data, patient utilization data, internal field force promotional data (calls, meeting attendance, samples etc.).
· Working knowledge of pharmaceutical industry CRM solutions and tools (e.g. data warehouses, analytics engines, sales force automation tools, closed loop marketing applications, etc.)
Preferred:
· Masters degree in Information Systems, Mathematics. Management Science or Engineering.
· Pharmaceutical sales and related areas (sales coordination, sales operations, sales training, etc.) preferred.
· Strong understanding of commercial systems (e.g. SFA, Data Warehousing, Financial Systems).
· Experience providing analytics and decision support to pharmaceutical sales and marketing functional areas including sales management, targeting alignments, incentives compensation, marketing analytics, marketing intelligence, product management, managed markets, trade relations, etc.
· Working knowledge of data governance, data stewardship and data quality methodologies and practices, including the application and communication of all commercial data management policies and procedures.
· Ability to think strategically and to manage and resolve conflicting/competing priorities.
· Strong analytical, quantitative and creative problem solving skills required.
· Strong Innovation and Adaptability: must be able to identify better ways of doing things and getting others involved about improved methods and procedures.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills to work with internal and external partners and comfortable presenting findings/recommendations to senior sales and marketing management.
