Associate Director, SEC Reporting recruitment

The SEC Reporting Unit is involved in all aspects of the Company's public reporting, with specific responsibility for American International Group, Inc.'s (AIG) quarterly Form 10-Q and annual Form 10-K filings. The SEC Reporting group also plays an active role in the quarterly earnings release preparation. This position requires significant interaction with departments and business units throughout the organization, including Corporate Consolidations, the Office of Accounting Policy, Financial Controls Unit, Regulatory Reporting Department, Parent Company Accounting, Investments Accounting, Derivative Accounting, Income Tax Accounting, SEC Legal Counsel and external and internal auditors.

The job responsibilities include:
* Coordination of data collection, compilation and review of the Company's footnote disclosures in SAP Notes Management for compliance with FASB and SEC reporting requirements.
* Develop and monitor footnote disclosure calendar to comply with timing requirements necessary to satisfy management, Disclosure Committee, Legal and auditor reviews.
* Administration and review of the SEC accounting and disclosure checklist for the financial statements and footnote disclosures for review by management and external auditors.
* Oversight of preparation and review of footnote detailed tagging for compliance with evolving extensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) requirements.
* Preparation and review of other assigned sections in the Company's quarterly and annual filings, as outlined in the quarterly disclosure calendar.
* Analysis of new SEC and FASB pronouncements, working with the Office of Accounting Policy to develop changes to footnote disclosures.
* Work with IT and business units to assess data requirement impact and make necessary changes to applicable data collection and aggregation requirements.
* Participate in the evaluation of significant transactions to confirm compliance with applicable reporting requirements.
* Involvement in projects to streamline processes, modify procedures or otherwise revise standards for the coordination and preparation of footnote disclosures.
* Work closely with the Corporate Consolidations and Financial Planning and Analysis teams to review the accuracy of quarterly rating agency and board of director reports.
* Participation in the development of budgets and forecasts for the SEC Reporting group.
* Other projects and duties, as requested.
