Associate Director Technology / Media M&A
Client

Building on its position of leadership in international financing of emerging companies, they are rapidly expanding and looking to hire two new Associate Directors (VPs).

Role
An Associate Director is both a client facing and execution focussed role. He / She leads most phases of a project and is in charge of the day to day client relationship. Support in the negotiation phase of a project.
The role will involve:
• Working closely with the clients to create investment-grade marketing materials such as business plans, presentations, financial models and summaries;
• Marketing the proposition to financial and strategic investors and acquirers (venture capital firms, corporate venturing divisions of large corporations, private equity firms, family offices and corporations);
• Orchestrating and chairing discussions between the client and prospective investors or acquirers;
• Managing the due diligence process undertaken by multiple interested parties; and
• Advising on and, at times, leading the subsequent negotiations with potential investors / acquirers and their advisors on investment or acquisition terms.
• Preparing pitches for new clients;
• Working on presentations for conferences; and
• Attending conferences.
It provides the successful candidate with constant exposure to the venture capital, entrepreneurial and growth-equity communities at all levels.
The roles are based in London and will require occasional European travel.
Experience
Candidates for both roles will be currently working in corporate finance (TMT or mid-market investment banking), venture capital, private equity or management consulting with a top-tier firm.
Candidates will have worked in this environment for at least five years, in the case of applicants for the Associate Director position.
It is essential that candidates can demonstrate that they have, at one time or another, led every stage of an investment, capital raising or sell-side MA project for technology clients with an enterprise value of less than £100m.
Knowledge of technology or media is a plus, but interest in entrepreneurship; international outlook and passion for innovation are what matter.
