SUMMARY
Perform hands-on analytical, functional, and coordination of activities in the preparation and application of test equipment on components, subsystems, or vehicles for test. Primary focus will be hybrid electric vehicles, power generation equipment, and vehicle controls and related systems. Also supports the vehicles and vehicle sub-system during developmental testing following appropriate procedures, standards, and specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Operate and maintain equipment and perform other general mechanical duties, such as complete component changes, modifications, teardowns, and reassembly on vehicles or test stand equipment.
  2. Test and develop new vehicles and/or components: perform specified tests, gather data, evaluate performance, conduct and evaluate safety and road ability inspections, and report findings. Perform tests of systems and components to assure proper operation.
  3. Draw basic sketches as related to test fixture development or redesigning hardware.
  4. Conceive and fabricate test fixtures.
  5. Establish appropriate instrumentation, install delicate instrumentation, and provide input for test sequence and procedures.
  6. Perform tests to determine capabilities of vehicles/systems and conformance to specifications and/or regulations.
  7. Recording and report test data
  8. Must possess good written and oral communications skills.
  9. Preserve high standard of safety during all aspects of job performance which includes exposure to personal and physical hazards on regular basis.Maintain high standard of cleanliness and order in working area for reasons of safety and efficiency
  10. Have a friendly manner and cooperative attitude in dealings with other employees and customers
  11. Follow established test, departmental, and other required procedures
  12. Ability to investigate vehicles, subsystems, and components. Troubleshoot problems, perform basic failure analysis, and participate in formulation of a corrective action.
  13. Service and repair equipment and vehicles as required.
  14. Willingly assists others as necessary to meet deadlines
  15. Limited travel to support test activity
  16. Work closely with and mentor, train, and lead team members. Some supervision of technicians will be expected.
  17. Plan and schedule work activities for yourself and a team to complete assignments in their order of priority to make effective use of time
  18. Have a skill or the ability to take on a specialized skill specific to test and development activity
