As an Associate Field Operations Engineer for tw telecom, you?ll be responsible for performing engineering work in various disciplines to support tw telecom?s city engineering teams in completing infrastructure/revenue based projects. To be successful in this role you?ll need to Have a very strong technical aptitude Be an excellent project manager and organizer of people, processes, and systems. Be confident and knowledgeable, having the ability to be professionally persuasive without being domineering. Ensure the accuracy of the inventory and have the ability to maintain the required levels for the field. Have a very strong working knowledge of Microsoft office suite, Excel, Word, Email. The fundamentals. You must actually be a user of those. Required to be a very strong Excel user. Understand and design/engineer tw?s NYC network ? includes equipment that supports Ethernet, TDM, DWDM services as well as our Central Office. Have excellent Project Management Skills: Ensure that orders come in on time and coordinate with people and parts to pull everything together to complete the project. To achieve your objectives you?ll need to: Learn all the ins and outs of our inventory system. Understand and have a working knowledge of the systems that we use. Learn workflow systems to a proficiency level that allows you to identify/locate information required for the job You must be a quick study, work independently, resolve problems, set priorities and proficiently interface with others. Duties and Responsibilities: Your duties will include carrying out various engineering activities including basic design and development related to, but not limited to: Network systems Customer premise equipment OSP Engineering and Installation ? including utilization of telecom?s OSP pricing system. Coordinates activities of vendors, contractors and internal operations managers pertaining to equipment or fiber construction. Coordinates and compiles data required to obtain permits (e.g., right of entry, various municipal permits, customer releases, LEC conduit and pole attachment requests), ensuring information is accurate and complete. Maintains data in various systems (e.g., AutoCAD, OSP Insight, CDI, NEAD, Swift Projects), identifying, researching, and resolving discrepancies/errors. Acquires detail to generate MOPs. Ensures all vendor contracts are current and accurate. Updates BSWA database as required. May lead less complex projects. May track PA/PO/invoice/receiving process in PeopleSoft. Maintain spare equipment inventories, consumables and asset recovery via tw telecom?s materials inventory system (RFID). Performs other duties as assigned. Pay: $50-65K
