The AFC position is a professional level position with multi-pronged career path options after at least 18 months in role. The Associate Financial Consultant, Field Consulting Group (AFC) will interact with participants, prospects, new entrants and their beneficiaries and representatives concerning pre-tax and after-tax products and services. They will assist the Financial Consultant in attaining asset growth and asset retention goals as well providing a distinctive customer experience that is executed accurately. The AFC will make referrals of sales opportunities to Financial Consultants, as appropriate. AFC may be dedicated to specific institutions and focused on enrollment and seminar activity. They will work a variety of schedules including evenings, early mornings, and weekends. They will work additional hours during peak periods and will travel regularly, including overnight travel. Conducts group financial and retirement education seminars and generates referrals to Financial Consultants Conducts group and individual enrollment /orientation/new hire meetings for new and existing institutional clients, enrolls new participants and refers transfer/rollover opportunities to Financial Consultants Participates in benefits fairs to generate referrals for Financial Consultants and to increase understanding of and participation in TIAA-CREF products and services Conducts individual counseling sessions with participants in-person (in the office and at the institution), by telephone with an emphasis on enrollment and service, making referrals to FC's as appropriate Assisting Financial Consultants in making outbound phone calls to generate appointments on campus and in office Supports business partners by maintaining relationships with institutional HR and Benefits representatives Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Customer Service : Builds and maintains strong relationships with the customers and their representatives. Handles stress appropriately while maintaining performance and diplomacy. Utilizes problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Exhibits confidence and an energetic presence. Job Knowledge: Understands TIAA-CREF products, services, and internal processes including quality and distinctiveness expectations. Communication : Articulate verbal and written/documentation skills with the ability to communicate with and adapt to a diverse customer population. Strong listening skills. Technology: Must have strong working knowledge of Customer Relationship Management applications systems to access and maintain individual customer information.
