Associate Financial Officer-Latin America

The Treasury Client Solutions Department provides IFC’s clients with innovative forms of local currency financing with a focus on the development of domestic capital markets to help increase the capacity for long-term local currency investment. The group has global responsibility for derivative transactions, structured products, and debt capital markets including IFC's own local currency bond issuances.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in an area of strategic priority to IFC, to get exposure to cross-currency derivatives markets, local currency bond issuances, as well as a wide variety of transaction structures, covering Latin America and the Caribbean.
The position is based in Washington DC and will focus on Latin America and the Caribbean.
Duties and Accountabilities:
• Contribute to the marketing, structuring, and execution of local currency loans, client hedges, structured transactions and local currency bond issuances in Latin America and the Caribbean.
• Execute derivatives and bond issuances to fund and hedge local currency loans.
• Work with third party financial institutions to provide quotes for local currency loans to investment departments and clients.
• Structure and execute hedging solutions for clients under IFC’s Client Risk Management program.
• Support investment teams on structured transactions by analyzing data, providing structuring advice and pricing transactions using internal models.
• Work with regulators to obtain required approvals for IFC’s local currency bond issuances.
• Business development through marketing treasury products to clients, regulatory agencies and financial institutions.
Selection Criteria:
• Master’s degree in Finance, Business, or Financial Engineering or an equivalent combination of education.
• At least 4-6 years of finance experience, preferably in fixed income, structured finance and/or credit analysis.
• Experience working in derivatives markets and/or debt capital markets in Latin America and the Caribbean.
• Strong analytical and problem solving capability.
• Excellent conceptual understanding of fixed income instruments and derivatives and experience working with standard information platforms such as Bloomberg or Reuters.
• Ability to multi-task and to pay attention to detail, even when under tight deadlines.
• Candidates that have knowledge of local currency loans and/or structured finance transactions have a competitive advantage.
• Excellent communication skills in English; candidates fluent in Spanish have a competitive advantage.
