SUMMARY:
Personal Insurance Business Technology (PIBT) seeks a Senior Application Developer/Technical Lead with a stable/consistent track record and highly experienced in the development and support of Mainframe based applications utilizing full Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Engineering Best Practices. The candidate in this position will support large-scale, Personal Insurance, strategic development and maintenance activities.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
The position¿s responsibilities include but are not limited to ¿
¿ Providing technical leadership and contributing to design, build, test, and implementation activities
¿ Providing hands-on coding, unit testing, implementation and technical support
¿ Working with business analysts to develop application requirements
¿ Developing project estimates, technical specifications, and unit test transition plans
¿ Conducting alternative systems assessment, and determining an optimal solution for business needs
¿ Conducting application code reviews
¿ Analyzing and resolving defects discovered by QA
¿ Assisting the Application Owners in strategically positioning the systems for future business capabilities and ease-of-maintenance
¿ Completing multiple projects within deadlines in a highly dynamic environment
¿ Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with all Stakeholders
¿ Working in a team environment and sharing knowledge
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Minimum five years of hands-on software development and support experience in the Mainframe environment.
Position title and salary will be commensurate with the selected candidate's skills and prior work experience, as determined by the hiring manager.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
¿ Experience with TSO, COBOL, DB2, CICS, JCL, VSAM, and Endevor
¿ Experience with full Systems Life Cycle Development
¿ Experience with code reviews, and development technical specifications, test and transition plans
¿ Ability to effectively utilize industry standard best practices in the systems design, build, test and implementation
¿ Ability to identify risk and issues and recommend appropriate mitigation plans
¿ Ability to deal with changing priorities and meet tight timelines in a highly matrixed environment
¿ Ability to work with highly diversified business and technical teams (incl. Onshore and Offshore)
¿ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be a proven contributor in a team environment
¿ Ability to develop and present technical concepts to business audience is a major plus
