Associate – Insurance Ratings – Technical Analysis Group recruitment

The Insurance Technical Analysis Group performs various tasks for the insurance ratings practice, including advanced capital modeling, analysis and ratings of insurance-linked securities (ILS), and analysis and ratings of bond, mortgage, and title insurers. The Associate position will be involved in all aspects of the team's work, with a primary focus on ILS and mortgage insurance.
The specific duties of the associate will include the following:
- Research and development of quantitative models used in the ratings process
- Meetings and discussions with investment bankers to gain insights into ILS transactions
- Analyzing and presenting ILS transactions to the rating committee
- Analyzing and presenting mortgage insurance companies to the rating committee
Skills
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in finance, math, or statistics
- Masters degree in finance, math or statistics, or CFA or actuarial designation preferred
- Experience in insurance (life and/or property-casualty) and/or residential mortgages
- Strong quantitative skills
- Knowledge of investments (bonds, equities, structured securities, and derivatives) and asset/liability risk
- VBA programming skills
