Associate, Internal Audit
Castleton Commodities International (CCI) is hiring an Associate for their Internal Audit group. This position reports to the Head of Internal Audit and has a high level of visibility to the various business groups across the organization. Initially, the role will focus on conducting process reviews of the various front-, middle- and back-office functions within the trading operations to identify controls and risks. The Associate will be responsible for creating detailed process flow charts as well as documenting process narratives. While the position is located in Houston, TX, there will be travel required to other CCI offices globally.
Other Responsibilities Include:
- Evaluating internal controls and performing design and operational testing of controls.
- Evaluating the adequacy of existing business processes, procedures, policies and the internal control environment and identify factors causing deficiencies.
- Documenting all work according to standards consistent with the Internal Audit profession.
- Auditing the accounting and statistical data of various departments, divisions and locations in order to verify accuracy in compliance with plans, policies and procedures prescribed by management.
- Assisting with the preparation and submission of formal reports of the results of internal audits that include making recommendations on matters of significance.
- Coordination with external auditors as necessary.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, MIS or related field
- CPA or CIA Certification is preferred
- 2-4 years’ experience in either Public Accounting or an internal audit function of a company with energy trading operations
- Prior experience in energy commodities is a must
- Ability to travel 20-30% with some international travel required
