About the Business KeyBanc Capital Markets (KBCM) is the corporate and investment banking arm of KeyCorp. KBCM is a leading full-service corporate and investment bank dedicated to serving the needs of clients in the following core industries: consumer, energy, industrials, and real estate. Our team consists of 500 bankers located in 10 offices throughout the U.S. KBCM's core capabilities include MA and financial advisory, syndicated finance, debt and equity capital markets, and corporate banking services. Our MA professionals have completed more than 100 transactions since 2007, advising financial sponsors, corporations, and entrepreneurs through critical business transitions. KBCM's equity capital markets team has completed more than 370 lead and co-managed offerings since 2004, raising more than $113 billion in equity capital. About the Job KBCM Associates work with industry and product group bankers in cross-functional teams, originating and executing a wide variety of financial advisory and capital markets mandates. Associates have day-to-day responsibility for transaction execution support and new business development, and serve as a critical bridge between KBCM's senior professionals and analyst staff. Associates interact regularly with senior bankers, clients, prospective buyers/money sources, attorneys and accountants. Experienced associates learn to manage transactions and interface directly in presentation, negotiation, capital-raising and closing and play a central role in coordinating the activities of all team members. Additional responsibilities include supporting senior bankers in developing junior analysts and helping with special projects to further develop our franchise. This is a Chicago, IL based position.
Required Qualifications
- MBA preferred
- 3 years of investment banking, corporate finance or other relevant experience (e.g. accounting)
- Undergraduate degree with minimum 3.5 GPA preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent writing and presentation skills
- Strong quantitative skills, including financial modeling and financial statement analysis
- Exceptional critical thinking and problem solving ability
- Demonstrated team player/leader through sports, extra-curricular activities and/or other
