Associate Investment Officer/Investment Officer recruitment
They develop new business, structure, negotiate and close transactions, and actively manage portfolio projects, working in close collaboration with clients, project sponsors and other public and private sector stakeholders, with the overall goal to maximize the developmental impact of our client by executing innovative and profitable investments.
Positions are based in Africa.
Responsibilities
- • Evaluate, structure, negotiate, and close new transactions and manage portfolio projects, including restructurings, rescheduling, capital increases, equity sales, etc;
- • Develop a strong pipeline of good quality investment opportunities;
- • Design innovative and appropriate financial structures using state-of-the-art financial instruments and risk management tools;
- • Prepare and lead project negotiations to successfully overcome impasses and create win-win situations;
- • Include in the early stages of a project social, environmental and technical assistance colleagues to add value to our client’s businesses and propose pragmatic solutions to specific sector challenges to achieve sustainable development impact;
- • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, global and regional private businesses, banking and multilateral partners and government officials;
Requirements:
- • MBA or equivalent qualification;
- • 4+ years experience in finance with a proven track-record of sourcing, structuring and closing investments;
- • Strong financial and credit skills; demonstrated ability to structure a variety of financial instruments (debt and equity);
- • Excellent client relationship skills to interact independently with the senior management of clients, financial and technical partners as well as with senior government officials;
- • Ability to mentor junior investment staff;
- • Strong business development skills and the capacity to focus on their client needs, always working towards business goal to develop the private sector in emerging countries;
- • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English; fluency in other languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Portuguese, Spanish or Russian) a plus
