Associate Manager, Public Investment Operations recruitment

Public Investment Operations is responsible for ensuring investment activity for publicly traded assets of the General Account and some Subsidiary Accounts are accurately reflected in Oracle ledger and the sub-ledger system, PAM. The group works closely with internal business partners such as Public Fixed Income Trade Operations, Performance Reporting and other Reporting units and external custodian banks.

The Associate Manager works closely with the staff and is expected to anticipate issues that may introduce risk, cause errors and adversely affect the ability to meet deadlines; taking the necessary action to prevent or mitigate the risk from occurring.

Primary Responsibilities:
Coordinate and monitor all daily and monthly reconciliation activities
Coordinate Month-End close deliverables, meeting the 4 day close objective
Review and provide sign-off on monthly reconciliations for accuracy/consistency
Supervision of staff of 4 within a group of approximately 18 team members
Provide feedback and guidance to staff members
Handle various adhoc requests
Effectively prioritize time to work on projects
Review manual journal entries

Skills

Bachelor's Degree required: Business/Accounting/Finance major preferred
3-5 years experience in Accounting/Operations
Strong accounting, research and analytical skills
Strong leadership skills
Supervisory experience a plus
Solid understanding and appreciation of business risk - how to identify, mitigate and maintain controls
Self motivated, flexible and responsive to change
Ability to organize, prioritize tasks and work in a deadline oriented environment
Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment
Strong interpersonal, communication (both written and verbal) and partnering skills
Effectively work with management team to allocate resources accordingly
Knowledge of industry a plus
Strong familiarity with Prudential systems a plus (Oracle ledger, BI, SQB, PASS, PAM)
Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
