Associate Manager - Corporate Strategy

Responsibilities
As a member of the Corporate Strategy team at Verisign, this position will be charged with facilitating development of the strategic direction of the company.  The position is highly visible and requires frequent interaction with all staff levels, including the senior executive team.  The main responsibilities include:
 
Corporate Initiatives
o    Support internal consulting assignments on a variety of strategic topics such as market analysis for organic and inorganic growth opportunities, assessment of business risks, etc.
o    Support preparation of key leadership meetings including executive leadership team meetings, board presentations, Analyst Day presentations, etc.
o    Assist with strategic planning process and alignment with operational plan
Product and Innovation initiatives
o    Help identify ways to evaluate new business ideas, improve operational efficiency, and analyze market trends and drivers across products, countries and client segments
o    Monitor competitor activity related to emerging trends
o    Recommend and prioritize specific actions with regard to emerging areas of interest
Go-to-market / International expansion initiatives
o    Support research efforts to identify potential international market opportunities
o    Make recommendation on current best practices which can be expanded into other international markets
o    Uncover additional market opportunities and recommend action plans as required

The ideal candidate will have the following professional qualifications:
 
·         MBA from a top business school is strongly preferred
·         Minimum 4+ years overall expeirence with  at least 1-3 years experience working in strategic roles for leading communications, media, entertainment and/or Internet companies or for leading strategy consulting firm advising such companies. Knowledge of the communications, media and information industries
·         Experience in the strategy development process - hypotheses development, data-driven analysis, consensus building and executive presentation
·         Engineering or technology development experience, and international work experience are pluses.
 
The successful candidate will be mature, a quick learner, and will possess strong interpersonal skills, having participated and led in team environments. Excellent analytic skills, creativity, project/time management skills, and communication/presentation skills are required.
