Associate Media Producer - Educational Publishing / e-learning

Location: Hertfordshire
Salary: 18k to 24k basic

• Secondment Cover - proposed start IMMEDIATE
• Full time - 35 hours per week
• Contract 6 months+

My client is a leader in online publishing and e-learning solutions operating in Worldwide.

Background Information:

The Digital Programmes department delivers online products in a variety of platforms and disciplines to support their Higher Education publishing.

Purpose:

The successful candidate will produce and maintain media products and course content produced in support of the Higher Education publishing programme. Working within the Digital Programmes department, the Associate Media Producer will work closely with Media Producers, Authors and Publishers to deliver course materials and electronic supplements to the highest possible standards. Projects will include management and delivery of companion websites and assessment content as well as assisting Media Producers in creating and delivering content for more complex projects.

Key Accountabilities:
• Serve as producer, facilitator and co-ordinator for assigned projects
• Track and monitor work being completed by external vendors
• Support Media Producers in creation/delivery of content for premium media projects

Key Challenges:
• Managing multiple projects at varying stages in the production process
• Becoming knowledgeable and competent in a variety of bespoke platforms used to produce online content

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

In a nutshell, this particular role requires someone who is more familiar with an 'editorial production role', has attention to detail, and with a 'technical' background in HTML, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and Photoshop etc.

• Microsoft office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills
• Experience in the use of an HTML editor (e.g. Macromedia Dreamweaver)
• Experience in the use of a graphics programme (e.g. Adobe Photoshop or similar)
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and organisational skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
• Some experience of copy writing, copy editing or proof reading
• Project management experience

Desirable:
• Experience in creating/amending css
• Experience in Flash an advantage
• Experience in Fireworks, and Photoshop.
• Keen interest in online learning and social networking
• Relevant experience in educational publishing or educational software
• Experience of managing multiple projects
• Experience with assessment content development
