Responsibilities
Columbia Management, a division of Ameriprise Financial is seeking an Associate Municipal Bond Portfolio Manager. The person will work closely with the Municipal Bond portfolio managers and will support their investment process by:

* Assisting with and monitoring portfolio activity including trading, settlements and cash balances.
* Ensuring portfolios are within guidelines.
* Developing and preparing analytical information with a focus on benchmark research and relative positioning to benchmarks.
* Preparing research on competitor fund families and strategies.
* Making tactical and strategic recommendations to enable portfolios to achieve desired goals.
* Staying current with Group's credit surveillance bringing possible credit issues to the attention of portfolios managers.
* Preparing required ongoing fund reporting, sales and marketing materials.
* Other activities as needed.

Required Qualifications

* 3 - 5 years of experience in the Municipal Bond industry
* Team oriented with great attention to detail.
* Specific experience in Municipal Bond research, trading or portfolio management and a desire to be proficient in all.
* Experience using analytical systems and tools.
* Excellent analytical, technical, written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills.
* Candidates with or working toward an advanced degree and/or the CFA charter are preferred.
