Position Description:
Morgan Stanley Capital Group Inc. seeks Associate, Natural Gas Liquids Trading, Fixed Income Division in Purchase, NY to manage the firm's Natural Gas Liquids trading business, including making markets for the firm's internal and external clients and, executing and risk managing transactions using various commodity derivative hedges. Build financial risk and pricing models for investment and trading activity, and provide micro and macro economic analysis on oil supply and demand and historic analysis using various market data applications and trading platforms such as Bloomberg, nymex, ICE and the firm's historical marks. Trade in the Crude Oil market including making markets on flatprice WTI and Brent, WTI and Brent time spreads, and WTI/Brent spreads for the firm's corporate and fund clients. Work closely with traders, trading managers, and risk managers to run profit and loss reports and perform trading desk operational tasks. Build Excel spreadsheets to price client requests and manage risks by trading in various financial derivative markets. Prepare financial reports. Create financial models to present to internal and external clients for risk management. Utilize tools and technologies including Bloomberg, NYMEX, ICE, Excel, Visual Basic, WebICE, Virtual Markets, Tempest and CRR.
Skills Required:
Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration or related field or equivalent, and two (2) years of experience managing investments in energy commodities including pricing, executing and risk managing transactions for internal and external clients on behalf of a global financial services institution. Prior experience must include building pricing and risk models for investment and trading activity; preparing financial reports, and creating financial models to present to internal and external clients for risk assessment; managing associated risks by trading in various financial derivative markets; and utilizing tools and technologies including Bloomberg, Visual Basic, and Excel.
