BlackRock Solutions provides clients with access to the intellectual capital, risk analytics and investment platform used to support BlackRock's asset management business. By combining sophisticated risk analytics and investment systems with capital markets and business process expertise, BlackRock Solutions helps clients address a variety of risk management and investment process challenges. The BlackRock Solutions platform is currently used to analyze and process approximately $12 trillion in assets, liabilities and derivatives as of March 31, 2012. In addition, BlackRock Solutions' Financial Markets Advisory practice focuses on helping clients address unique balance sheet challenges associated with U.S. and European structured finance and mortgage exposures in security, derivative, and whole loan form.
We are seeking an experienced Associate to support BlackRock Solutions' Chief Operating Officer in multiple business and operational projects. BlackRock Solutions is a critical, high growth business unit of BlackRock, with a global footprint responsible for over $500 million in annual revenue.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support the Chief Operating Officer of BlackRock Solutions in providing operational and business support that can be leveraged to create efficiencies for growing their risk and trade processing tools/system and advisory businesses.
- Provide quality and actionable business reporting that supports decision-making by the Head of the BlackRock Solutions business and key business leaders. Reports are ad hoc and ongoing in nature to monitor key business metrics and growth numbers.
- Assist in strategic business reviews, including competitive landscape of the business and overall margin analysis.
- Assist with budgeting and expense management exercises to optimize investments that the business makes.
- Interface with key business partners in Finance, Human Resources and other groups to improve connectivity and results.
Qualifications and Experience
Strong candidates will have the following qualifications and experience:
- 3-5 years' experience in the financial industry.
- Highly professional, organized and efficient.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to multi-task in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong orientation towards detail and problem solving.
- Operates as a "self-starter" with high energy and demonstrates a hard-working, "roll-up-your-sleeves" approach.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, including the ability to interact with senior leadership.
- Effective communicator - possesses superior written, verbal and presentation skills.
