ASSOCIATE – PRIVATE EQUITY recruitment
Our client is looking to hire an Associate for its offices in Accra. An essential role, the associate will contribute to all aspects of the fund's West African activities. In particular, s/he will share responsibility for:
- Sourcing new investment opportunities;
- Conducting due diligence (financial, social, legal and regulatory) and risk analysis;
- Structuring and negotiating investment terms;
- Presenting transactions for approval to the Investment Committee;
- Managing portfolio companies post-close through board membership and mentorship, including providing insight and advice for strategic planning and hands-on troubleshooting on operational issues;
- Identifying and structuring attractive exit opportunities.
Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate will be an MBA graduate with a minimum of 3 years of experience at a top tier investment bank or strategy consultancy. Excellent skills in financial analysis, modeling and valuation are mandatory, while a background in private equity would be a distinct advantage. The candidate will have an excellent understanding of the local Ghanaean market should have an ability to generate deal flow in the local market through his/her pre-existing network of contacts. An understanding and enthusiasm for the SME market segment will also be highly appreciated.
Our client is a small fund manager that puts a premium on individual enterprise and initiative. The candidate should be able to take end-to-end responsibility for a project and express a desire to rapidly progress to the role of office director in the medium-term.
Fluent English mandatory, French a plus.
