Associate, Private Equity recruitment

Position Overview:

Our client is a very well established large cap private equity firm with multiple funds and international investments.

We are currently recruiting for top caliber candidates to fill several associate needs. Ideal candidates will have exceptional modeling skills including LBO’s, strong knowledge of accounting and accounting adjustments, have come from MA, leverage finance or investment banking coverage groups where they have developed excellent experience by working on several execution mandates.

This is not a contract position.

Responsibilities:

• Development of investment assessment and summary memorandum for managing directors.

• Work closely with senior team members in the due diligence and execution of large cap international investments.

• Design and develop very complex financial models including leverage models.

• Develop financial structuring knowledge for acquisitions.

• Develop a strong understanding of industry dynamics and country/political risk issues affecting investments.

• Work autonously but in close collaboration with senior team members throughout the due diligence and execution phase of the investments.

• Maintain positive and growing relationships with all industry players.

• Work with third party advisors as appropriate (including any coinvestors, lawyers and accountants).

Qualifications:

• Must be Canadian, however could be working outside of Canada currently.

• Minimum of 2 and up to 4 years experience with a highly regarded firm . Must come from MA, investment banking, leverage finance or strategic consulting.

• Undergrad in commerce, engineering or applied mathematics with top academic standing. MBA, CFA or CA an asset.

• Must have exceptional modeling skills including LBO’s developed while working on very complex large cap transactions.

• Must be able to think like an investor to assess risk and long term investment value.

• A passion for developing a long term future in private equity investing.

• Highly analytical and focused with exceptional attention to detail.

• Must be a collaborative team player.
