Department overview
The Markit Distribution Platform cross-links data from multiple contributors, vendors and exchanges, allowing clients to easily access bespoke data feeds. The Markit Distribution Platform has access to data from a large range of sources including Stock Exchanges, Financial News providers, Interdealer brokers.
Position summary
Data from the Markit Distribution Platform is widely used in different Markit applications/services including Quotes, Desktop, Portfolio Valuations and Solutions. As a member of the data analyst team you will be thoroughly involved in the integration of new datasets in Markit Distribution Platform, both internal Markit data and third party content. The team currently consists of 6 analysts.
Duties accountabilities
- Analyze new datasets to be integrated into Markit Distribution Platform for both internal and 3rd party sources.
- Write detailed integration requirements with the goal of identifying development activities necessary for integrating the new content.
- Become experienced with existing datasets in Markit Distribution Platform to be able to integrate new datasets consistently.
- Make sure datasets from Markit Distribution Platform can be sold compliant with the commercial agreements with feed providers.
- Define data licenses in Markit’s user entitlement system.
- Assist in testing of newly integrated datasets and Markit Distribution Platform components.
Business competencies
Education and experience
- Masters Degree in Finance/Economics or equivalent with special interest in Information Technology.
- Knowledge of financial instruments.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Oracle SQL, STATA is a plus.
