Standard Poor's Commercial Loan Performance Optimization Program, a part of Leveraged Commentary Data (LCD), provides a suite of information/knowledge-based deliverables to banks and non-banks that improve commercial loan portfolio pricing performance without compromising market share, relationship profitability or other business objectives. This group focuses on commercial loans ranging from less than $1 million to greater than $20 million to small and mid-sized companies and helps its customers achieve enhanced loan fee and interest income performance by analyzing portfolios individually and relative to the market, to uncover pricing opportunities and the drivers behind them. It then implements a suite of information/knowledge-based tools to better manage the pricing process, effectuate behavioral change at the banker level through data-driven education and best practices and by providing ongoing feedback to senior management by measuring and monitoring absolute and relative performance, market trends and providing insights on what is/isn't working.
Standard Poor's Commercial Loan Performance Optimization Program is seeking an Associate to conduct customized, in-depth portfolio analysis of client loan portfolios, including producing market-based pricing benchmarks. In addition, the position entails supporting the delivery of Pricing Guidelines and Management Reports and Analyses.
Essential accountabilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Building models that produce accurate pricing benchmarks
- Client interaction including maintaining relationships with senior management and their data teams
- Build and maintain spread and loan fee guidelines incorporating market-based and bank-specific pricing intelligence and best practices
- Conduct in-depth portfolio analyses, examining client's absolute and relative performance and the drivers behind them
- Create performance analysis and reports for senior management
- Conduct data validation and run portfolio diagnostics.
Skills
- Bachelor's degree required
- MBA degree preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Access required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required
- Work experience in data management and quantitative data analysis required
- Knowledge of commercial lending as well as the bilateral or leveraged loan market preferred
- Work experience in commercial lending preferred
