Associate Regional Director (Special Events Major Gifts)
Washington DC (Alexandria)
World renowned respiratory, immune, and cardiac research and treatment center, non-sectarian National Jewish Health is seeking an experienced fundraiser with proven record in Special Events to work in our Alexandria, Washington regional office. Must have excellent organizational skills, initiative to manage fundraising campaigns, and desire to work in a team-oriented environment. Work with Regional and National Directors in the DC and Florida region. Coordinate National Jewish’s regional special events and major gifts efforts to identify, cultivate and solicit donor prospects capable of giving annual, capital or endowment support. Identify, cultivate (build relationships) and solicit donors and donor prospects.

Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of computer, operations and management. Excellent written and oral skills. Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities.
Education
Bachelor degree in related field required. Additional training in development and non-profit management preferred.
Certification and Licensure
None
Work Experience
A minimum of three (3) years fund-raising or related experience required.

Essential Responsibilities Include:
• Responsible for creating fundraising strategy, managing event logistics and implementing all details for assigned events. (DC and Florida regions)
• Develops strategies to meet or exceed all budgeted revenue goals.
• Develops and cultivates relationships with Regional Trustees and event leadership.
• Develops activity plans and implements overall strategies for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major giving donors as assigned by regional director and coordinate all aspects of assigned special events.
• Cultivates planned, major gift and event donor relationships through telephone, written (letters, invitations, applications, proposals, written materials, etc.) and high level of personal contact. Follows-up to finalize all donations.
• Develops strategies to meet or exceed all budgeted income goals in region.
• Researches present and prospective donors to determine philanthropic capacity.
• Develops plans for securing planned and major gift donations from new sources
