- The selected candidate will support drug discovery programs by performing metabolism and pharmacokinetic studies and disseminating results to discovery working groups.
- This involves the design and implementation of various in vitro and in vivo experiments to characterize the metabolism and pharmacokinetic properties of novel agents, in order to guide target validation, lead optimization and candidate selection during drug discovery processes.
- The incumbent will develop and apply appropriate analytical methodologies to quantify drug and metabolite concentrations in various biological fluids.
- The scientist will also be involved in innovative research projects that enhance the efficiency of the overall drug discovery processes.
- The candidate should possess BS/MS degree in Chemical, Biological or Pharmaceutical Sciences or related discipline with 5+ years of industry experience and a sound understanding of drug metabolism or pharmacokinetic principles.
- The candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills and be independent in conducting in vitro and in vivo metabolism and pharmacokinetic experiments.
- Extensive experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC and MS instruments is required.
- The candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to interact with multidisciplinary drug discovery teams and work in a highly-matrixed environment is a prerequisite.
