About the Job 

Provides sales support to the International and Foreign Exchange Services team relative to Key’s global trade service activities and Foreign Correspondent Bank (FCB) network.  Responsibilities include proactive management of  FCB relationships that support the processing needs of KeyBank clients and prospects.  Assists in structuring, pricing, recommending for approval, and monitoring of identified trade credit transactions - including those in Key’s Ex-Im Bank / SBA trade credit portfolio - that involve foreign bank and sovereign credit risk elements. Partners with Key associates and external clients to increase global trade service sales that fall within Key’s parameters for acceptable risk tolerance, in order to enhance profitable client relationships across all business segments.  Focuses on client retention and new client acquisition by providing world class service to existing clients and targeted prospects.

Essential Job Functions 

• Provides administrative support to IFX sales group by assisting with preparation and completion of foreign bank credit approval and pricing requests.

• Maintains and selectively grows Key’s foreign correspondent bank network to support the delivery of trade finance and foreign exchange services to the bank’s clients and targeted prospects.

• Grows Key’s Ex-Im Bank / SBA export-oriented lending programs with application preparation, documentation review, portfolio monitoring, and administrative support.

• Identifies cross-sell opportunities; supports generation of incremental revenue through cross-selling to clients of trade finance and foreign exchange products and services.

• Fosters ongoing partnerships with the sales and product teams in IFX and Relationship Bankers to ensure that sales and marketing activities are achieved

• Focuses on client retention by serving as a point of contact for client inquiries and servicing needs related to international trade finance and payment services.

• Develops a good understanding of macro business concepts (logistics, risk mitigation, finance, payment practices) as relevant to global cross border payments and global trade finance).

• Develops a good working knowledge of the UCP 600 and other cross border payment trends to respond in an advisory capacity to clients¿ needs.

Other job functions:

• Reviews and understands International and Foreign Exchange marketing materials, fee schedules, and on-line access modules.

• Assists in coordination of client training seminars, trade shows and other business events related to trade finance for external clients and internal line of business partners.

• Serves in global trade education role by presenting internal product training sessions and conducting seminars for clients.

• Accompanies sales officers on calls when required.

• Liaises with International Client Service group and Global Trade Client Services team as required.

• Represents Key as a global trade subject matter expert in industry forums.

• Develops close client relationships through social entertainment activities.

Required Qualifications 

• Bachelors degree in business administration or equivalent experience required.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.

• Excellent analytical and organizational skills.

• Demonstrated ability to quickly establish rapport and build client relationships to effectively negotiate and resolve issues.

• Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters degree in business administration.

• Working knowledge of global trade finance, international payments and foreign exchange products, services and solutions.

• Working knowledge of international credit and operating practices.

• Familiar with KeyBank operations
