One of the leading names in distressed debt investing in Hong Kong is looking to add an associate to their team to cover Southeast Asia and Greater China. The firm is categorized a Tier 1 IB with an excellent reputation and track record especially in their special situations side.
The firm has a huge US presence to compliment the Asia offices therefore will be able to offer you excellent training and exposure in addition to flexibility on all mandates and broad industry coverage encompassing a number of sectors in Southeast Asia and China.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Working as a Buy side analyst focused on generating proprietary investment ideas in the China markets' distressed and high yield debt markets for the team - could be looking at distressed credits, private equities, NPL portfolios.
- Responsible for sourcing, evaluating, structuring, executing and monitoring investments alongside the portfolio managers.
- Ability to take on full execution duties within the next year.
- Exposure to Southeast Asia and Greater China markets.
This role will provide you with an opportunity to work with some key figures in distressed debt investing and will also offer you exposure to other related areas such as:-
- Event driven equity and CDS positions
- Evaluating China principal investments and structured/illiquid instruments.
Excellent LBO/DCF modelling skills are required therefore in order to apply for the role applicants must have an excellent academic background from a leading school and ideally come from a top restructuring, financial sponsors or Leveraged finance team.
Applicants with experience within special situations or distressed debt investing from another fund will be considered with high regard.
