Job Description:
The Associate Technical Product Manager/Owner works with senior Wireless Generation leadership, product development teams, and key customer accounts and partners, taking full responsibility for the identification, definition, analysis, prioritization and ongoing refinement of product and/or technology platform requirements. In this role, the Associate Technical Product Manager/Owner will work closely with and coordinate the efforts of personnel from various departments at Wireless Generation with the goal of creating innovative software products to support K-12 instruction and assessment.
Responsibilities of the Associate Technical Product Manager/Owner - Data Systems
- Research - Becomes a Subject Matter Expert in the relevant product domains. Evaluates competitive offerings to inform product roadmap.
- Strategy - Analyzes and makes recommendations regarding roadmap for current and potential products.
- Planning - Works collaboratively to plan product build, design, and launch phases.
- Product Design - Works with design/usability department to determine product presentation/design. Represents the interest of Product Management and end users in the development of the product, helping to shape the look, feel, and flow of the software.
- Development - Works with a team of project managers and developers to build products. Prioritize, maintain, and groom the product backlog.
- Requirements - Write and maintain product requirements by performing business analysis to understand use cases, features, and domain rules.
- Usability/Product Pilots - Works with usability department and external focus groups to beta test products.
- Launch - Collaborates on product launch planning and implementation. Manage customer, partner, and vendor relationships as necessary.
Requirements for the Associate Technical Product Manager/Owner - Data Systems:
- BA/BS or equivalent experience preferred
- 3+ years of experience with professional software product development, with 1+ years in a product or project leadership role
- Experience with multiple full project lifecycles, from concept to delivery
- Direct experience and responsibility for the documentation and ongoing elaboration of software requirements and specifications, including use cases, user stories, and detailed specifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with Agile SCRUM software development methodology.
- Excellent organization skills; creativity and objective-oriented focus
- Experience working in education is not required but would be a bonus
