Associate/Assistant Vice President, Product Development, Equities recruitment

Markit Equities provides a suite of products primarily designed to give immediate access to the data required for equity derivative trading. This encompasses index data, daily composition data of globally listed ETPs and dividend forecasts delivered in one validated and cross-referenced feed. The product range has been extended particularly in the ETF area over the last two year, and now includes the ETF Encyclopedia, a reference dataset for all globally listed ETFs, the ETF Dividend service providing dividend forecasting for ETFs and MSA, a fully validated and independent market share analysis tool for the European cash equity market including ETFs.


Position summary

The individual will be responsible for contributing to the creation and development of the equity product suite at Markit, designing, monitoring and assisting with the delivery of projects and promoting the new products to both the Markit sales team as well as to clients.

The individual will support individual product SME’s in developing products and managing client implementations.

The position will be based in London, but will be working closely with other product specialists in London, New York and Singapore.


Duties accountabilities

• The individual will support the product SME’s during the product development phases, contributing to business and user requirement documents, identifying data sources, validating data, testing and producing Sales collateral.

• Work closely with clients and the operations team to review, monitor, and enhance incoming data quality

• Produce product factsheets and sales support literature to promote product range.

• Support client presentations for new and existing product initiatives.

• Manage client specific initiatives and support the product SME’s in researching and identifying new opportunities across the product range.


Business competencies
Education and experience

• University education preferred. No advanced degree required.

• Experience in an operations support role, ideally with some client exposure. Exposure to equity products (especially ETF’s) in a business / commercial environment a plus.

• Fixed Income and commodity experience an advantage.

Commercial awareness

• High degree of commercial awareness. Needs to be motivated by the commercial impact of product development.

Management requirements

• The individual is expected to be a strong team player.
