Description
Our client is a leading global bank, which is looking to recruit a Credit Researcher to join European Credit Portfolio Management Office (ECPM) at junior level (associate/junior associate). ECPM is part of the European Planning Division (EPD) and responsible for actively managing the retained credit portfolio with the overall objective of improving return on capital.
At present, the portfolio under management is made up predominantly of loans and CDS, while areas of development include counterparty risk (CVA) and traded credit risk in general. Established in 2007, ECPM shares in the responsibility for managing approximately €60bn of notional credit exposure. Our work is analogous to that of a buy-side investment firm that has a single client - the bank.
ECPM's primary focus is on hedging credit exposure to EMEA domiciled borrowers, seeking to manage concentrations and to mitigate the impact of credit deterioration. In order to manage the impact of position revaluations on financial results, ECPM also supplements credit risk to the bank's portfolio. All activities are co-ordinated with our colleagues at the head office credit portfolio management unit.

The successful applicant would be able to demonstrate an interest in credit, financial markets and eagerness to learn. Extensive training on the job will be provided. An inquisitive nature, good interpersonal skills and an excellent command of English are essential; while ability to speak another European language is considered an advantage. Excellent word-processing and spread sheet skills are also essential.
