Services are specialized to help clients mitigate risks across an overall risk spectrum. We are currently seeking a Financial Risk Management Associate/Senior Associate to join our New York office.

KPMG's Operational Risk professionals assist organizations in identifying operational risks and control enhancement opportunities, including addressing issues around the integration of key processes and systems. Our team is open to individuals with a wide range of skills and experience in such areas as: banking, brokerage operations, portfolio management, trading and order management, compliance and control, middle and back office functions, clearance and settlement, portfolio accounting, performance measurement and attribution, retail distribution, hedge funds, and alternative investments.

Responsibilities for both positions:
- Assist clients in providing regulatory analysis of the impact of the Volcker rule ('the Rule')
- Advise financial services industry clients in assessing operational risks associated with executing, reporting, and transactional activity in supported securities processing areas from trade capture, to risk and product control, through to settlement
- Help client develop the appropriate governance and compliance programs to respond to the Rule
- Assist in the implementation of the compliance program for the Rule

Additional Responsibilities for Senior Associate:
- Serve as a liaison between clients and upper management
- Identify and communicate technical matters to both clients and upper management
- Serve as a mentor to associates and new hires

Qualifications for both positions:
- Two years of experience combining trading, risk knowledge, product control, and/or consulting experience at top tier firms
- Project management experience
- Deep understanding of capital markets, derivatives, or prime brokerage
- Ability to make and sustain meaningful client relationships
- Ability to formulate and express ideas clearly and effectively in verbal and written presentations

Additional Qualifications for Senior Associate:
- Four years of related work experience
- Demonstrated supervisory experience
- Well established understanding of business dynamics and operations
