Associate/Senior Associate Sovereign Wealth Fund recruitment

Our client is one of the leading and most active Sovereign Wealth Funds in the Middle East. The firm has strong roots in its domestic market but has recently specialised in foreign investments (United States, Europe and Asia-Pacific). Created in the early 2000s in order to manage the oil and gas surpluses that the country was producing, the original fund has since diversified and now invests actively across the Healthcare, Hospitality, Media, Retail, Real Estate and Infrastructure sectors.

We are working with the General Portfolio team which focuses on the non-real estate assets that the firm invests into. The team is currently made up of 12 Investment individuals based over in the Middle East, hailing from a variety of Top Tier Investment Banking, Asset Management and Private Equity institutions.

The team has been extremely active recently and is looking to expand by hiring Associates and Senior Associates with a focus in Healthcare, Hospitality, Retail, and Media.

JOB DESCRIPTION

-To assist Portfolio Directors and Associate Directors in the development and management of the investment portfolio by working on specific companies and investments as directed/allocated. 

-Working with the appropriate Associate Director and Director to help evaluate new investment opportunities. 

-Post acquisition, to work with the relevant Associate Director or Director to ensure appropriate reporting, performance monitoring and risk assessment and provide investment analysis and recommendations in order to ensure that well informed decisions that maximize portfolio value and returns are supplied to the Head of General Portfolio in line with the strategy and guidelines. 

-Build organizational knowledge in relevant industry sectors by contributing expertise and external network.

Full scope of investment

+Investment Evaluation and Recommendations: Performing initial screening of opportunities, Supporting the team in regularly reviewing the overall investment strategy, Building and developing financial analysis and valuation.

+Due Diligence: Ensuring all the due diligence expectations are verified and met to ensure the project is moved forwards.

+Business Planning: Supporting the team in preparing new business plans for investments and providing periodic strategic guidance.

+Portfolio Management: Monitoring the operation and financial performance of assigned investments within the portfolio and preparing regular reports on this, Working on development options for ensure the value of the individual investments are optimized (restructuring, additional financing, further MA).

REQUIREMENTS

-Ability to relocate to the Middle East on a permanent basis

-Minimum Education Qualification: Bachelors degree in Business Administration/ Management from a Top Tier Institution. MBA or CFA would be a bonus

-Experience: At least 3-4 years (Associate) or 5-6 years (Senior Associate) of experience in leading Investment Firm and or Investment Bank

-Demonstrable transactional experience in the US, Asia or Europe

-Strong written and verbal communication skills

-Exceptional analytical and financial capability

-Multi-tasking skills

-Ability to travel
