Audit & Accounting Manager recruitment

Responsibilities

Statutory Audit Planning:
* Manage the overall audit planning and statutory reporting for ~40 entities within EMEA.
* Develop audit timetable and liaise with auditors, reporting managers and local accountants.
* Identify co-dependencies and work with the various internal and external parties to ensure audits are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
* Build consistency and best practice into the audit process and delivery of information and audit packs
* Ensure consistency of accounting treatments across EMEA where applicable.

Technical Accounting:
* Respond as the EMEA Technical resource for answers on GAAP (US, IFRS and local)
* Write up internal and external memorandums on complex accounting transactions
* Provide in-house updates and training on changes to accounting rules and areas of specific interest to the team
* Support the IFRS/US GAAP convergence project   
* Research local GAAP implications for new offices/entities and acquisitions

Internal Controls:
*Work with the internal audit team to determine annual internal audit plan and timetable.
*Update and review the internal control processes documentation. 
*Review the key controls and work with the team to build programme/checklist to ensure all controls can be seen to be running effectively.
*Provide training to new team members on the internal control process.

Qualifications

Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA or similar) with suitable post qualification experience

Experience

Proven work experience of working in a similar role
Excellent knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS

Key Tech and Non-Tech Skills

Well developed IT skills including Email, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Very strong verbal and written communication skills
Good interpersonal skills
Highly organized, detail-oriented and able to manage several projects
Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Ability to build strong professional relationships at all levels
Ability to ensure ongoing self development
Work using own initiative and without close supervision
