Audit Advisor
Primary Focus
As the successful candidate for this position you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and conducting financial, compliance and operational assessments; carrying out independent, objective reviews of company activities; and providing analysis and customer-focused/value-added recommendations for Enbridge Inc companies.
Responsibilities
Perform risk and control assessments of areas under audit consideration.
Participate in establishing the audit scope and objectives in the areas under audit consideration.
Develop audit programs and procedures to effectively address the risks and test controls identified.
Communicate the results of work to appropriate parties.
Assist in research and analysis of technical and best-practice standards.
Prepare formal reports for management regarding the adequacy and effectiveness of financial, operational and administrative controls and the efficiency and effectiveness with which activities are carried out (provide value-added recommendations where applicable).
Work with the external auditors on quarterly/year-end financial audits and special engagements.
Provide control advice and guidance to company personnel on an ad-hoc basis.
Perform special project work.
Qualifications
Business and/or Engineering degree preferably combined with a professional accounting certification/designation or an MBA degree.
Working knowledge of Canadian/International accounting and/or auditing standards.
Minimum 4 years of business/operational experience with1 to 3 years experience in an audit capacity.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong organization skills; ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to facilitate, negotiate and influence at all levels of the organization.
Strong computer skills; ability to become proficient in PC based software packages.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
