Audit Advisor
Primary Focus
As the successful candidate you will be responsible for the development and execution of construction audits based on key project and business risks, and developing the vendor audit section of the Internal Audit Plan. Working collaboratively with Enbridge management and construction personnel, you will provide analysis and customer-focused/value-added recommendations for Enbridge Inc. companies.
Responsibilities
Provide technical expertise in identifying control deficiencies and improvements which will result in reduced costs, improved quality and efficiency.
Establish audit programs and procedures to effectively address the risks and test the controls identified.
Communicate the results of work to appropriate parties.
Assist in research and analysis of technical and best-practice standards.
Present accurate and timely audit reports with clear and supported audit findings.
Provide effective presentations of information to all levels of the organization regarding construction audit findings and recommendations for improvement.
Maintain current knowledge on construction audit trends and standards.
Coordinate and review work of external consultants on construction vendor audit engagements.
Perform special project work.
Qualifications
Business and/or engineering degree preferably combined with a professional accounting certification/designation or an MBA degree.
Business experience in the construction industry, particularly in project management, is an asset .
Working knowledge of Canadian/International accounting and/or auditing standards.
Minimum 4 years of business/operational experience with 1 to 3 years experience in an audit capacity preferred.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong organization skills; ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to facilitate, negotiate and influence at all levels of the organization.
Strong computer skills.
Advanced skills with MS Office package.
Oracle ERP and data mining experience would be an asset.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, where appropriate.
Position and Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
