Audit Associate recruitment
Role Description:
Internal Audit is a global function with audit delivery teams aligned to all of our clients businesses and central support functions. All audit activities related to this Asset Manager in EMEA are covered by the EMEA Audit Team, based in London and Edinburgh, with this particular role located in Edinburgh. Internal Audit places great emphasis on adding value, developing and maintaining working relationships and establishing partnerships with the businesses to improve the way they are controlled.
Responsibilities:
*The role will be involved in all aspects of the audit. Coverage will include the investment management processes and extend to core support groups such as Risk Management, Operations, Finance and Compliance.
*Travel requirements are approximately six weeks away per year, but there is flexibility in how this is shared in the department. The department is responsible for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. However, most travel is within the UK and Western Europe.
Support a robust audit process by:
*Developing and maintaining working relationships with the business
*To assist in the risk assessment of assigned business units
*Planning, executing, reporting and following-up audits of various parts of the business within required timeframes
*Participating in audits and global/cross regional projects that impact this firm
*Assisting in the audit issue follow up process
*Providing advice during the development of new businesses and systems
*Performing investigations, special reviews and other ad hoc projects or requests
*Providing audit/control related information for Senior Management/Regulatory meetings and other governance forums
*Keeping abreast of regulatory and industry and corporate changes within Europe, US and Asia-Pac which impact EMEA
Skills and Qualifications:
*ACA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent)
*Candidates should have post-qualified experience either as an external or internal auditor within the investment management environment or investment / commercial bank.
*You should have a sound understanding and experience of internal controls and audit procedures and be able to demonstrate the successful completion of a number of audit assignments over the past three years.
*Be passionate about his/her ability to influence change within the control environment
*Strong communication and relationship management skills
*Team player
*Good organisational skills.
