EXTERNAL AUDIT EXECUTIVE/SENIOR WITH GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC SECTOR AUDIT EXPERIENCE TO SERVICE CLIENTS BASED IN SUSSEX FROM SOUTHAMPTON
Within UKI Assurance of this Top 4 Firm, their Government Public Sector team (GPS) is a specialist team, dealing specifically with clients in Government and the Public Sector. Their primary clients are in Local Government and the NHS and include County Councils, District Councils, Police, Fire, Hospital Trusts and Primary Care / Clinical Commissioning groups - all of which are involved in providing frontline services to the public.
GPS is a new growth area for for the firm so you'll have the opportunity to play a part in growing the business, ensuring you gain excellent learning and development experiences. It's a great role as you will still get exposure to learn and understand their corporate audits as well as develop specialist skills.
As an Audit Executive auditor in UKI Assurance GPS, your main aim will be to provide an independent view on their clients’ compliance with accounting principles. By doing so, you play an important role in helping businesses reflect their financial picture accurately, which in turn protects financial markets.
The firm is currently looking for an experienced Audit Executive for their Southampton office to cover the Sussex area, working with local clients.
Your client responsibilities will include effectively managing the Audit process with appropriate consideration of audit risk issues and accounting technical matters, lead and manage fieldwork on clients, applying a solution-based approach to problem solving, referred to for research on delivery of solutions in that field on client assignments, using GAM to perform an assurance engagement in compliance with auditing standards and identifying areas requiring improvement in the clients business processes and possible recommendations and prepare and deliver Management Letter to be provided to the client
The successful person is likely to have external audit experience, ideally within the government and public sector with a Top 20 firm, but applications will be considered from candidates who have gained substantial audit experience with a firm of accountants who would be keen to develop their skills and knowledge in this specialist field. If they hold a professional accountancy qualification this would be ideal - CIPFA, ACA, CA, ACCA - but a suitably experienced candidate will be equally considered.
