Description

Manages and executes all activities relating to the planning, implementation and quality execution of an audit, audit project, or specialty assignment (i.e., Credit Risk Review, Professional Practices). For audits this includes a comprehensive evaluation of the risk management and internal controls activities, including consultation with and evaluation of other departments (i.e., Compliance, Technology, Risk). The individual must be able to develop and maintain key client relationships; manage and develop staff; oversee the execution of audits or other assignments; deliver high quality written work and oral presentations; and provide thoughtful recommendations for enhancing the control environment. Manages and directs implementation of all aspects of an audit project or other assignment. Manages projects efficiently (on time, within budget, quality-controlled) and in accordance with department methodologies and standards, and all regulatory requirements. Manages and develops direct reports including timely feedback, training and career development. Models BNY Mellon shared values in all interactions. Learns new businesses, processes and regulations effectively and quickly. Builds and maintains key client relationships; assists clients in enhancing the control environment and operational efficiency. Engages in relevant training regarding audit, businesses, financial controls, regulations. Writes or oversees the writing of clear, analytically sound documents, reports or presentations that are client-ready. Must be able to take a leadership role in project planning, including scoping and risk analysis. Must possess the technical and analytical skills to indentify existing and emerging risks, and to ensure audit activities (i.e., testing) are adequate and appropriate to the specific audit and business. Understands business strategies, processes and regulations effectively and quickly. Alert to business, regulatory and financial developments and related risks. The individual will interact with senior members of the Audit team, external parties (Auditors) and senior business partners. The ability to develop and retain relationships is important, as are oral and written communications skills. Teamwork and management skills (360 degrees) must be present or developed for success in this role.

Qualifications

4 year degree or equivalent. 4 year degree in accounting or finance or other related field. MBA, CPA, CFA or related certifications preferred. 5 years relevant experience. 5-10 years relevant experience including at least 3 years in internal or external audit or relevant specialty area preferred.
