Audit Manager
This position is responsible for providing oversight on an engagement in which you must possess prior experience or good familiarity with real and personal property in the federal government to be successful. Specifically, knowledge of Statement of Federal Financial Accounting Standards (SFFAS) No. 6 and 8 as there are specific standards and requirements for reporting federal property.
Responsibilities:
Address upper management and answer questions on reporting and tracking of federal property for the client
Oversee a team of two senior accountants
Write memos, bulletins, and procedures
Provide training, instruction and guidance to staff and seniors.
Participate in personnel matters, including interviewing, motivation, recognition, coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions, promotions, and bonuses
Maintain excellent client relations for the firm
Maintain strong communication with partner(s) regarding engagement progress, staff performances and budget issues
Participate in the development of staff and senior level employees
Is well organized and pays close attention to details
Meet expectations for attendance, punctuality, company/client deadlines and abide by all company policies
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related degree
Minimum 3 years of directly related experience
Minimum 1 year in a supervisory or management experience
Proficient knowledge of Statement of Federal Financial Accounting Standards (SFFAS) No. 6 and 8
Prior experience with real and personal property (specifically with the federal government as it relates to reporting federal property)
CPA is not required but preferred
Able to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Able to speak effectively before groups and/or present information to clients, peers and management
Detail oriented, well organized and able to work independently and/or manage a team
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
