Audit Manager – Local role with limited travel recruitment
Offering a comprehensive range of individual life products, including protection and wealth accumulation products, my client is one of the leading players in the Hong Kong financial services market and is looking to appoint a experience Audit Manager within their local Hong Kong office.
Reporting to the local Head of Audit, my client is seeking experienced candidates with strong audit skills within the Insurance sector, who can demonstrate strong project management skills and a solution orientated approach.
Major Accountabilities -
- Manages audit engagements, ensuring proper coverage and consideration of auditing principles and practice.
- Develop audit programs and create testing strategies for key controls under the supervision of the Head of Internal Audit.
- Execute tests of internal controls within assigned budget.
- Analyze audit results and conclude on the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls. Identifies audit findings and makes recommendations.
- Prepares and/or reviews internal audit reports of findings and recommendations for delivery to management.
- Leads meetings with clients for the purpose of presenting audit findings and recommendations; conducts audit opening meetings with client.
- Monitors audit findings to ensure effective resolution.
- Assists in developing the annual audit plan for assigned client group.
- Monitors the progress of audit projects under his/her responsibility and provides appropriate leadership in completing the project according to department objectives.
- Recommends revisions to audit policies, procedures, and programs.
- Represents Internal Audit at management meetings.
- Actively builds and manages relationships with business partners.
- Leads or participates in fraud investigations as required.
- Occasional travel toChinamay be required (approximately once/year
- This job will be based in Hong Kong, and occasional travel (5-10%)
Education and Experience required
- College or University degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
Professional accounting or audit designation - Minimum of 5-8 years of audit and/or financial experience (ideally in Insurance)
- Knowledge and application of financial principles and standards
- Intellectual ability/innovation capability and quick learning
- Analyzing and solving business problems
- Understanding business processes
- Strong communication and project management skills
- Fluency in English and Cantonese mandatory. Knowledge of Mandarin an asset.
